Taking school enrollment processes, whether applications, lotteries, registration, or re-enrollment, from paper to online is a school organization’s first step toward more sustainable practices.
Online enrollment forms are easier for families to fill out, since they can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and driving to/from schools or district offices isn’t required.
But to further move access equity in the right direction, school organizations need to make sure those online enrollment processes are mobile phone-friendly.
With one in five Americans relying on their smartphones for internet access — particularly in lower-income communities — mobile tools can help ensure that all parents can easily access online school applications.
